William Stringfellow, b. Mar 17 1816, d. May 02 1888
STRINGFELLOW. - William Stringfellow, an old settler of Monroe township who
has been sick the past winter and spring, died at the home of his son, John,
Wednesday night, at 11 o'clock. The funeral takes place Friday, at 10
o'clock, from the house. The remains will be interned in the Wymore
Cemetery. "Uncle Billy," as he was generally called, was a good citizen, an
honest man, a kind husband, and an ?????? father. He was 72 years of age,
and held to the Baptist faith known as "Predestinationism". He leaves an
aged wife and a large family of grown children to mourne his loss. We were
called to do some business for him the day before he died, and found him, as
we thought, good for many days yet, as he seemed very lively and strong for
one of his age. His trouble was bronchias?? affection????. The family has
the sympathy of all in this their sad bereavement?.
